On June 9, I spent Election Day in Clinton, talking with residents as they headed to the polls. Residents generously shared their thoughts about the issues affecting their daily lives.
Several themes emerged from those conversations and my follow-up discussions with the community:
Affordability remains the top concern. Residents spoke about rising housing and rental costs, utility bills, groceries, healthcare, and childcare, with many feeling financially stretched.
Property taxes are weighing heavily on homeowners. Some shared concerns about recent tax increases and the long-term costs of funding major local projects, including proposed new library construction.
Starter home for young families, affordable options for seniors to downsize, and significant tax relief for seniors are my top priority once I'm in office, for Clinton and for the district.
