Massachusetts should work for people who work

During my 100 Conversations tour across the district, I’ve been hearing a lot about what affordability really means in Massachusetts.
We hear politicians talk about “lowering costs,” but here’s the reality many families are living with:
Mortgage or rent
Property taxes
Utility bills
Childcare
Health insurance
Commuting
By the time all the essentials are paid, many working families are already spending over HALF of their income just trying to stay afloat.
That’s why I believe Massachusetts needs a new governing standard: the 50% Rule.
No working family should have to spend more than 50% of their income on basic living costs just to remain in the state they helped build.
Every major policy should be measured against one simple question: Does this help working families stay under the 50% threshold?
Massachusetts should work for people who work.
